Signal Culture encourages creation of new work, building of community, and connection to history in the field of experimental media art by providing artists, researchers, and innovators with residencies, resources, and exhibition opportunities.

Javier Sanchez - Artist in Residence - Mexico City, Mexico

Signal Culture offers residencies in the beautiful city of Loveland in Colorado. We believe in the importance of fostering a community of people working with experimental media art and host multiple residents concurrently to set a stage for conversation, networking, and possible collaboration.

Our facilities include an artist studio, toolmaker studio, and a print and media library. Additionally, private bedrooms, shared common areas and other amenities are provided. We love and support our community, so our residencies are free to apply to and to attend!

Signal Culture is dedicated to producing and distributing resources for use in the field of experimental media art. This includes documentation and distribution of of experimental media art processes and events, producing ePublications, developing tools, and conducting interviews with important artists, toolmakers and curators in the field.

We now have a Threadless store! Support Signal Culture while you shop. We’re starting out with shirts, notebooks, tote bags, stickers, magnets, and zip pouches. More to come soon! Our first 2 designs are our logo and a wobbulator. We’re pretty excited and hope you like them, too!

Shirts come in All Gender and Femme fits. Make sure to click on “More Product Information and Size Chart” for the best information about sizing for each style. We sought to be size inclusive. The Classic Tee, Sweatshirt, and Zip Up Hoody all go up to a 5x, while the Femme Premium Tee offers an XS and the Femme Fitted Tee runs small generally.

A portion of the proceeds goes to us and that portion is tax deductible.

Signal Culture supports innovators working in the field of experimental media art by curating exhibitions, performances, and screenings in a variety of galleries, museums and alternative spaces. We plan to grow our exhibition programming to feature more collaborations with museums, galleries, festivals, conferences, public art initiatives and community organizations, nationally and internationally.

We were able to get started thanks to a SEED grant from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation
