Minou Maguna is a Painter, Art Director, professor. She is

currently working as regisseur for Experimental pieces in

Musical Theatre, Operas, Urban Shows with street artists and

Mapping Projection onto Opera Houses.

 

She was working in collaboration with many important artists

around the world like Robert Wilson, Alvin Lucier, Christian

Wolff, Steve Reich and Salvatore Sciarrino. She also made the

regie for Inannis Xenakis opera 'Oresteïa', for Samuel Beckett

pieces 'Words and Music' and 'Not I', for John Cage piece

'Analphabet', for Salvatore Sciarrino musical piece 'Studi per

l'intonazzione del mare' and for Wolfgang Rihm opera 'Lenz',

among others. In collaboration with the Bronx based video

artist Benton C Bainbridge she put on the stage 'Brother

Islands. Places to lose people' at Eyebeam Art and Technology

Center in New York, 'Diorama 1:Painting' at Festival

Panoramica in Buenos Aires and 'Sensilia' an A/V show with

the artists Mika Vainio and Lucio Capece, from Berlín, at

TACEC Teatro Argentino, La Plata, Buenos Aires.

She has been working for more than a decade at CETC Centro Experimental Teatro Colón , at TACEC Centro de Creación y Experimentación Teatro Argentino and at Ciclo de música contemporánea at Teatro San Martín in Buenos Aires, at The Kitchen and at Eyebeam in New York, at ICA in London, at Auditorio parco della musica in Rome and at Arts Festival in

Singapur between others.

 

Minou Maguna made the original videos for Steve Reich

piece 'Drumming' and for 'Ballet Mecánique' by George

Antheil. She was making many original painting andvideo shows in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Brasil, Rosario and the Bronx. Invited by The Point Community Corporation Development she shared her videos with skaters from La Plata, Buenos Aires with the South Bronx Community, they were screening to get funds to build a skate park.

 

She had two writings published, one is about the Phenomenon

of the Double and the other is about the Relevance of the

Sense of humor as part of the clinic of psychoanalysis.

In collaboration con Benton C Bainbridge she is working in

‘Language lifework’ a documentary about Bill Etra work , a

pioneer video artist and co-creator of the Rutt-Etra video

synthesizer Comissioned by Fundación Proa she has made a curation of ‘Videos experimentales de artistas de New York’ for MIX’05 event.

 

For three years now she runs Seminario Cuatro Cabezas a

project to create a personal multimedia piece. During 2015

with the support of Teatro Colón she will start with the second

part of the Project COM(a) which goal is to make the staging

of the pieces. In March 2015 she will participate at UNTREF Universidad Tres de Febrero as a professor of the new Master in Contemporary Operas.

 

Currently she is working in her new painting show at American Beauty Gallery in Buenos Aires.
