Céline Fantino is a media artist living in Paris, France. Combining film, computer-generated images, and experimental sound, her installations decentralize perceptual data to replicate a state of disorientation and near-hypnosis: what does it feel like, to be on the verge of black-out?
"...Precisely there is no narrative unfolding in her films : they always create singular atmospheres sometimes flirting with science fiction, where the obvious gap between what is seen and what is heard makes the image somewhat strange and opens up a direct path of interpretation to the viewer, since in the end the imposed perceptive deviation casts doubt on the image and its foregone conclusions. ...The gaze then almost seems to hesitate between two different time and space spans." (curator Frédéric Bonnet)
She was graduated with a masters degree in Visual Arts at the National School of Fine Arts of Villa Arson (2014). She is a former member of the alternative art space L'Amour in Bagnolet. Her work has been exhibited and screened in Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain (MAMAC), Centre d'Art de la Villa Arson, L'Amour, Galerie Eva Vautier, Galerie de la Marine
