Alex Cruse
Alex Cruse is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Oakland, California. In her role of curator for the Artists' Television Access gallery in San Francisco, cruse has presented work by emerging U.S.-based and international artists. Her performative experiment DROUGHT SPA (with Kevin CK Lo) combines text, stochastic synthesis, and computer vision, among other modes, to examine ecology and human/non-human relationality through an anti-capitalist lens. They have performed across the U.S. and world. cruse’s first book of poetry, CONTRAVERSE, was published in 2017 by Timeless, Infinite Light. Writing and art can be found in SFMOMA's Open Space, Gauss PDF, CLOG Journal, the Living Room Light Exchange's STATE CHANGE, ARMED CELL, Elderly, 'Pider Mag, and elsewhere.
