Exploring body, consciousness, and connection to environment, Stacey Stormes works across mediums including video, installation, gif, and photography to create visual metaphor. Currently she teaches in the Media Arts program at Art Institute of Tampa and Video, Animation, and Digital Arts at University of South Florida. Her research and writing delves into art as social practice as well as theories surrounding the mediated body (work that exists within intersections of body and new media art). She recently developed an online course on Arts of Resistance for USF and has presented her research on the mediated body in Brazil for the Computer Art Congress 4. She earned her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the University of South Florida and Masters of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago.
