Jennifer Stob

 

Jennifer Stob (Ph.D. Yale University, 2010) is an assistant professor of art history at Texas State University and a scholar of visual culture. Her research investigates intermediality in European film and video and the representation of social space in all contemporary artistic media. She is finishing a manuscript on film theory and the Situationist International. Articles of hers have been published in Evental Aesthetics, Moving Image Review and Art Journal (MIRAJ) and Studies in French Cinema. Her film programming for The Black and Blue Danube Symposium at Colgate University (2013) has yielded two essays for anthologies: one on Goran Rebić for European Cinema After the Wall: Screening East-West Mobility (2013) and the second on Péter Forgács for Watersheds: Poetics and Politics of the Danube River (forthcoming 2015). Her residency at Signal Culture will be devoted to work on multimedia artist VALIE EXPORT.
