Andrew Duff
Based in the UK, Andrew Duff is a sound artist, organiser of the Brighton Modular meet, and University Teaching Fellow.
Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s Andrew studied Fine Art and Video Art in Coventry, then collected and experimented with a range of, generally, Japanese analogue synthesizers. He amassed a large collection of electronic music, and DJ’ed and performed live at club nights and various other such events.
Undertaking a Masters in Design and Digital Media in 2000 saw him move into computer-mediated audio/visual work with MAX/MSP & Jitter.
From 2012 onward Andrew has been involved in the UK modular synth scene hosting the Brighton Modular Meet, whilst continually developing his own work exploring the combination of modular synthesis, oscilloscopes and modified Vectrex games consoles with the aesthetics of drawing with sound and vector-scanning techniques developed in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
